Dearest Reader,
The town of Bramblebrook is a most mysterious place. Secret valentines can often be found in the most peculiar places this time of year. Pressed between pages of books, delivered with one’s tea, or even hanging from the Heartroot tree.
The ancient Heartroot tree is a lovely tradition where creatures from WhimsyWood gather to hang a special letter upon its branches. It is said these letters magically find their respected recipients, disappearing from the tree. The tradition goes as follows, one hangs a letter in hopes to receive one in return someday. You must have faith as this tree plays matchmaker on its own time. Some wait years to stubble upon a letter of their own.
Simply this isn’t just for love. Many a friendship have been found with this magic. You of course can send your regular yearly valentine through the tree, but it’s the special notes people often leave hanging upon its branches.
Whispers across the bramble speak of A Victorian Valentine, rumored to be entwined within the roots of the Heartroot tree. The letter is said to be the first. Some say it’s the lost valentine of Mossmere. The contents can only be read by the keeper of the letter. Of course it is unknown who this keeper is. Some say it’s the letter that traveled 100 years. Always reappearing year after year.
Even when the lanterns glow low, and the ink dries, no letter is truly lost in BrambleBrook.
A fresh cup of Brambleheart Brew at the Misty Carnation is lovely this time of year. I write this letter with a Carnation cup cooling beside me. Watching the travelers race for last minute love charms from Madam Briar is always sure to provide one a giggle.
Be sure to toss a love token into the babbling stream. A wish might just be granted.

Whimsy Elder
